Sweets for the month of love
Winter is slowly passing, giving way to spring, nature awakens and everything seems easier and easier. But first let's welcome in February, the month that brings us love!
Valentine's Day is upon us, a few days left. Everything around us is colored red, the flower shops show the well-set windows, you can buy gifts, sweets ...
We bring you the recipe for a cake, perfect to surprise the person you love.
Valentine’s Day Cake
The desserts prepared for Valentine's Day are mostly made of chocolate, red fruits (strawberries, raspberries ...) the color that symbolizes love and passion. This time we suggest a cake with 3 types of chocolate.

Preparation:
Prepare the creams first. For the first cream, place 150 ml of sour cream in one pan, add 150 g of white chocolate and 50 g of butter and melt everything over low heat. For the dark cream, using the same procedure, melt 300 ml of sour cream, 300 g of milk chocolate and 50 g of butter. Let the two creams cool, it is better if you put them in the fridge overnight.
Now prepare the cake: incorporate 100 g of butter with 100 g of sugar and a pack of vanilla sugar. Add 2 eggs, 75 g of flour, a teaspoon of baking powder, 50 g of dark chocolate and two tablespoons of cocoa powder. Bake in the oven at 160 ° C for about 20 minutes.
As soon as the cake is cold, whip the two creams with the mixer. Arrange a layer of white and dark cream alternately. Put in the freezer for 20 minutes and then in the fridge for 2 hours.
Your Valentine's cake is ready to be served!
Shortly after Valentine's Day comes another holiday celebrating love for your partner, March 8th - Women's Day. On this occasion, we offer you the recipe for a wonderful mimosa cake, decorated in an original way, traditionally prepared in Italy for this holiday.
Mimosa cake - Women's Day dessert
To prepare this cake, first prepare a sponge cake we will use as a base and as a decoration: the decoration should resemble mimosa flowers.

We start preparing the sponge cake: whisk 6 egg yolks and 250 g of sugar. Add 300 g of flour and a bag of vanilla sugar, gently incorporate the whipped egg whites and the lemon zest.
Prepare a 24 cm diameter cake pan, then bake at 180 ° C for about 30 minutes.
Once cooked, take it out of the oven and let it cool.
Meanwhile, prepare the cream:
Whisk 4 egg yolks with 5 tablespoons of sugar in one bowl, add 40 g of flour, lemon zest, and a vanilla stick. Boil 400 ml of milk, add the mixture of egg yolks, stirring until the cream thickens. Remove from heat and let it cool. Once it’s done, whip 250 g of sour cream and mix it with the chilled cream.
Prepare the liquor syrup: cook in a pan 2 tablespoons of sugar with 200 ml of water and 2 tablespoons of liqueur, we recommend the orange Cointreau or the limoncello.
When everything is ready, we assemble the cake: take the sponge cake and cut the top off, as if it were a lid. Carefully cut off the inside of the base layer and keep aside for decoration.
Then moisten the sponge cake with the prepared syrup and fill the base with the cream, leaving a little aside for the coverage. Close the cake with the sponge cake cap, also moistened with the liquor syrup. Finally, cover the cake with the remaining cream and decorate it with the sponge cake crumbs, until you get the appearance of mimosa flowers.
Leave the Mimosa cake in the fridge for at least an hour before serving it, either for Women's day or any other occasion.
